The Training Room has teamed up with ImPACT Canada to provide Langley athletes with access to Baseline Concussion testing.
Baseline testing should be done BEFORE the beginning of the sport's season. The test grades the athlete's neurocognitive functions (such as short and delayed memory, reaction time, association, vision accuity, etc.) in a normal, healthy state. If a head injury is sustained (via direct or indirect impact), we are then able to compare the athlete's follow-up tests with that of their baselines.
Adolescent athletes ages 8-14 have very limited normative data to compare to. This means that IF a baseline is NOT completed, and this athlete sustains an injury, the nomrative data compiled from across North America to compare him/her to is not substantial enough to provide an accurate comparison.
Please contact The Training Room for further information on testing, including Baseline testing fees and access codes.
